So, the playoff fate of the New York Yankees has fallen into the hands of AJ Burnett.
Ha!
I love it!
The Yankees find themselves in Detroit tonight with a win or go home situation staring them in the face. It’s not a place that anyone ever wants to be in. It’s not a place that the best players in the game always thrive in. But it is what it is.
And now the Tigers have the chance to finish off the series with a win at home. 1 win, that’s all they need to move on and get one step closer to the World Series.
This is not a game that favours the Yankees. At all. Even espn.com has them as underdogs with pre-game odds set at 38%.
The Tigers may not be the best team in baseball from top to bottom - but they won their division. They have some very talented position players & hitters. And whether you like him or not, Jose Valverde is a solid closer.
I don’t have any money on this game - because I try not to bet on baseball - BUT if you were to offer me something in return I think I’m liking the Tigers and Rick Porcello tonight.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:37pm eastern time... be ready for some tense moments and perhaps some celebrations at about midnight.
Go Tigers!
